WHOIS privacy — how your data is protected

Registries require real registrant contact details, but that doesn't mean they must be public:

• On supported TLDs (.com, .net, .xyz, .shop and most gTLDs) we enable WHOIS privacy for free — public WHOIS shows a proxy service instead of your details.
• Many European registries (.de, .eu, .cz, .sk…) redact personal data themselves under GDPR, so a proxy service isn't needed — the domain page shows "WHOIS protected by registry".

Keep your contact details accurate either way: registries verify them and can suspend domains with unreachable owners — accuracy and privacy are separate things.
